Which operating systems are currently supported by 0patch?

0patch Agent currently works on the following platforms:

• Windows Workstations

  • Windows 8.1, 32 and 64 bit (updated at least to January 2020)
  • Windows 7 SP1, 32 and 64 bit (updated at least to January 2020)
  • Windows XP SP3, 32 and 64 bit (fully updated)
• Windows Servers
  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (updated at least to January 2020)
  • Windows Server 2008, 32 and 64 bit (updated at least to January 2020)
  • Windows Server 2003 R2, 32 and 64 bit (fully updated)
  • Windows Server 2003 SP2, 32 and 64 bit (fully updated)

Note that 0patch Agent may also work on Windows versions not listed above but we're not testing on them. Also note that this list is getting updated when we add support for additional versions.

Important: even though 0patch works on the above supported versions, we have not "security-adopted" all of them - this means we're not actively monitoring for newly discovered or published vulnerabilities on all these versions and regularly publishing security patches for them. To see which Windows versions we have security-adopted, please consult this article.

On Windows versions that weren't security-adopted, you can still find value in 0patch, be them unsupported or supported.
