Some users have reported an error like this occurring during installation of 0patch Agent.
In all cases, this problem was resolved by one of these actions:
- Check if your "Windows Modules Installer" service is running. You can do that by opening Windows Command Prompt (cmd.exe) and typing "sc query trustedinstaller". If the state of the service isn't "RUNNING", you can start it by typing "net start trustedinstaller". After verifying the service is running try installing again.
- Manually install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package which you can download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368
- Uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages
